RICHARD MARK DOBSON
Director, Cinematographer, Photographer
"I endeavour to create imagery that push beyond merely prompting us to see and think. I want my images to make you feel something. A vibration. I attempt to imbue my work with vibe."
Richard was born in Bradford West Yorkshire and emigrated to South Africa in 1975.
After completing a diploma in graphic design at the prestigious Johannesburg College of Art in 1985, he moved to London where his interest in photography and film began. While assisting one of London’s most acclaimed advertising location photographers, Duncan Sim, it was during this time that Richard developed a keen appreciation for photographic craft and technique.
He now regards his vocation to be story telling marred to visually compelling corporate photography and video. Adding creativity and flair which has been nurtured by his immersion in the arts and advertising.
Now in his 32st year as a professional, since opening his first photographic studio in Hong Kong 1990, an inveterate traveler, Richard has visited over 40 countries, and lived on three continents. Since leaving Hong Kong in 1997, Richard has called Paris, New York, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Saigon, Seoul, Bangkok, Penang home.

"I'm an artist of frequencies. Great music is the mastery of frequencies with resonance. We live in a world of sounds. I love to shape sound into form, and that form into music. This is not an automatic process, but one born out of looking at the world, listening to it, and then making sense of it. Creating audio art out of frequencies is what I do best "
His musical knowledge is totally autodidactic.

Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Enya, Enigma and Mike Oldfield.
Robert Miles, Chicane, The Prodigy and BT.
And of course a huge range of video game songs and chiptune melodies when he was younger.
Irion has earned some first, second and third prizes for his music studio from competing in important online contests.
He has been working with sound designers and synthesizer developers writting demo tracks for Aiyn Zahev, Xenos Soundworks, Tone2Audio, Ugo Audio, KV331, Art-Ak, U-He, CableGuys, Supersynths, Perimeter Sound Arts, HiEnergy, Luftrum, Eclipse Sound, WeatherM, Sound Author, Krezie Sounds and a few others.
